Let's share some of our thoughts on the women we see in media as well as our favorite fanworks of our favorite women characters.
In honor of International Women's Day & Women's History Month (U.S.), the community will be open March 1-31 for posting meta and recs of fic, vids, art, podfic, meta, graphics, etc - any fannish endeavor you enjoy. Self-recs are welcome.

Note: Fanworks or Meta should be focused on characters who identify as women or who are aligned with womanhood. Please use your best judgement when dealing with non-binary characters. All relationship types and combinations are eligible.

Reccer's Notes: Shows a headstrong, aggressive female character who gets into a lot of different fights. The pacing is kind of frenetic, but it matches the energy of the song well. If you're interested in this, you might want to check out the canon, Arcane, which has multiple different women participating in fights, each with unique fighting styles.

Reccer's Notes: Frankly, I expected this to be significantly more controversial when I wrote it, which is why I reached for such authoritative sources and deliberately limited the spread of the post. Instead, I got... a lot of agreement on the official fandom Discord and basically no comments? I'm considering if I want to repost it in other places like the fandom subreddit or tumblr, since I feel I did a good job with this.

Reccer's Notes: This 6 minute fanvid does what a lot of half hour video essays fail to achieve. A lot of technical skill went into making this.

If you're interested in what you see here, you may want to check out the fandom too. Arcane is a really good canon in general for female characters who are allowed to be messy, complicated, terrible people! The show is very beautifully animated. There's a lot of F/F options in the fandom, including a canon couple.

A short, simple work dedicated to the first live-action Kel Dor Jedi since Plo Koon. I do not know why I felt the need to write a fanfiction about a character with like 30 seconds of screentime and no speaking lines, but here we are. Enjoy!

Reccer's Notes: The author built this lovely fic full of depth out of mere moments of screen time. It's a wonderful character and I'm left feeling glad I've "met" her now, the wider story now enriched with this one.
