Summary:
Reccer's Notes: Pass is the story of Naomi, a Jewish girl in a world of magic where she has been sent to Maine for an impending arranged marriage to the powerful Blanc family. But the Blancs didn't get to the top by being good people, and gaining their approval means compromising herself over and over again. Meanwhile, Naomi draws closer to Aria, the Other servant that the Blancs keep under their thumb...
This is an original character and location within a preexisting world, but should be understandable on its own without knowledge of Pale or Pact. Essentially a coming of age epic. It does a good job of integrating Jewish culture into urban fantasy

Summary:
The practice is the intersection of self, word, and pattern. Word is inviolate, and patterns have been a part of Naomi Cohen's life for as long as she can remember. Her Self, however, has reached a point of flux, and in that challenge risks collapse.
So obviously the solution is ignore the problem and hope it goes away. Naomi is a student of the past, after all.
And the one thing everyone knows about the past is that it has never, ever had even the slightest bearing on the present.
