Nominations:

Nominations will be for fandom & character(s). You can nominate up to 10 fandoms and up to 10 characters per fandom. Matching will be on at least 1 fandom and 1 character.

Fandoms will need to be nominated with as much specificity as needed (if canonical AO3 tagged fandom is ambiguous for a vid) or as a [SAFETY] fandom* (source less than 180 minutes long).

*The concept of [SAFETY] fandom is directly from the festivids exchange, the only difference is that we don't require the nomination to be a small fandom. A more detailed nomination guide will be posted when nominations open can be found here on this post.

Nominated characters need to be those who identify as women or who are aligned with womanhood. Please use your best judgment when dealing with non-binary characters.


Signups:

By signing up, participants agree to make a vid for their assigned participant. In turn, someone will make a vid for them.

You can request 3-6 fandoms and will need to include at least one [SAFETY] fandom. For each fandom, you must request at least 1 character, you can request up to 10 nominated characters.

This is a character matching vid exchange.
Pairings and other relationships* that you outline are optional for your vidder.

All relationship types and combinations are fine, but the focus should be on the woman.

You will need to offer between 3-10 fandoms. For each fandom, you must offer to make something for at least 1 of the nominated characters. You can also offer 'any, which will means any character in the tag set.

Assignments:

Soon after signups close, you will be notified of your assignment. You will be matched to a request based on at least 1 fandom and 1 character (multiple character requests are treated as OR requests, not AND requests).

This is a character matching exchange, pairings and other relationships are optional.

All relationship types and combinations are fine, but the focus should be on the woman. Use your best judgment.

Vids should be at least 1 minute in length and reflect at least 1 character requested by your recipient (you may vid to one other than what you matched on if you'd like). Do not include anything your recipient listed as DNW.

When you say "must reflect 1 character" does that mean *only* one character or is it more of a minimum like the video length? I was just thinking of what I'll nominate for this exchange and I was wondering whether a multicharacter video would be allowed in the case that we match on multiple female characters. Thanks!

It's a minimum. Matching and making vids on multiple women is possible, but the guarantee would be a vid based on at least 1 character. It's OR matching, not AND matching - if that makes sense.

ETA: I'll update the post to better reflect that. Thank you for asking - I'm sure clarifying that will help others as well.

Awesome, thanks! Yeah, I won't know whether this will be relevant until after matching since I may very well only match on the one character, but I figured I should ask now! Looking forward to participating either way <3

Just flagging that I nominated Ian Wright for Quantum Leap (TV 2022). Ian is a non-binary character played by non-binary actor Mason Alexander Park. I also nominated Ziggy in the same fandom who is, um, an AI, and it might be hard to represent her visually (people usually interface with Ziggy through hand held devices or computers in canon—it wouldn't be impossible, but it might be hard to do a vid if you only matched on Ziggy with someone) so I'll more than understand if that doesn't make the cut!

Thank you for the details. I did look them up and seemed like they qualify, so they're in!

While a Ziggy vid might require some creativity, it doesn't sound much more challenging than some other characters with very limited screen time. The 1-minute minimum might help here - because rare characters might never get any sort of vid otherwise. At least, that's my hope.
The back-up plan is that everyone has to request 3 things and one a [SAFETY] ;p

No worries! I just thought, given that Ian is usually a masculine name, I'd give you the context. Also that I'd give you a heads up re: the potential issues in a Ziggy vid, because I didn't want to submit nominations in a sneaky way that would cause trouble for you down the line.

Are there any rules regarding the aspect ratio of the video? For example, I see a lot of video edits on Twitter that are referred to as "fancams" and have a 1:1 aspect ratio. Would something like that be welcome here? Or would it be considered opt-in?

Hi! Nope, no rules regarding aspect ratio.
The vid would need to include source & character requested, be at least a minute long and comply with any DNW the requestor lists (ie. if someone doesn't want dialogue audio included, for example). But aspect ratio and any other creative sort of edits would fit.
